Neil Hodson: The Professionals of Isuzu

An opportunity arose with one of our customers to move larger, new vehicles on a regular basis. One of the most viable options was a 4x4 to pull our car transporter trailer. The new vehicle needed the maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, needed to be Tachograph ready, have excellent fuel economy and be very reliable and tough. Away from my work it needed to cater for my stock car racing hobby which included trips towing my stock car to my local track loaded with tools and spares. Add to this my 2 young children and dog, it had to fulfil a weekend of trips to the park, dance practice, children's parties etc etc. Quite a big ask of any vehicle!!

After a lot of research, I chose the Isuzu D-max. It became the obvious choice due to fuel economy and length of warranty. I chose the Yukon model with cruise control and air con but added the vision pack to give a rear camera for hitching up my trailer.

I haven't been disappointed, having covered 50,000 miles in its first year normally with a fully loaded trailer attached it hasn't missed a beat, and still has plenty of life on the tyres! From snowy conditions crossing the Peak district to summer heat on the South coast I'm certain I made the right choice.
