YORK VAN CENTRE SPONSORS FOOTBALL YOUTH TEAM

York Van Centre, an established member of Isuzu UK’s dealer network, has continued its sponsorship of Wigginton Grasshoppers Football Club’s under-11s team, adding support to Isuzu UK’s mission to be the driving force behind non-league football.

The team, nicknamed the Hoppers, has been sponsored by York Van Centre since 2020 and as a result of York Van Centre’s patronage, the Wigginton Grasshopper’s under-11s team has now been provided with branded kits which exhibit York Van Centre’s passion for the non-league club. The non-league club has flourished since being started in 1982 by local hero John Jeffery, who has various trophies and plaques accredited in his honour as well as a recently opened sports pavilion named the ‘John Jeffery Community Pavilion’ where the club often operates.

Speaking on the sponsorship, John Jeffery, founder of the Hoppers, commented: "Thanks to massive amounts of backing from volunteers and local sponsors like York Van Centre, it has been amazing watching this club evolve from the first small team in the local village to the widely appreciated, prosperous club it is today.”
