THE FUTURE OF ELECTRIC PICK-UP TRUCKS

THE FUTURE OF ELECTRIC PICK-UP TRUCKS

Electrification marks one of the biggest shake-ups in the history of the automotive industry, and this will be no different for the UK pick-up market. But, are electric pick-up trucks really the future? For many businesses, who look to decarbonise their fleets whilst maintaining the renowned capability and versatility which pick-ups have offered for years, it suggests the market is certainly heading this way. We’ll explore the ever-changing landscape of electric propulsion, what this means for businesses and the wider pick-up industry, and share why The New Isuzu D-Max EV is set to lead the charge as the first fully electric and fully capable pick-up truck in the UK.

AN ELECTRIC FUTURE

The future of electric vehicles (EVs) is constantly shifting as a result of an exponentially increasing number of models being introduced, rapid technological advancements in battery structure and efficiency, environmental policy and business net-zero ambitions, as well as ever-changing public perception on the viability, affordability, and capability of electric propulsion. With electric vehicles experiencing continual innovation, in addition to the increased rollout of vehicle-to-grid capabilities, the combination of the many factors driving the future of EVs is progressively propelling demand from consumers and commercial fleets alike.

INCREASING DEMAND FOR ELECTRIC PICK-UP TRUCKS

As the EV market continues to evolve, many businesses are looking to electrify their fleets to reflect the increasing demand to decarbonise and meet net-zero targets. However, a significant gap in the EV market resides in pick-ups, with the current lack of a fully commercial electric pick-up truck meaning fleets operating large numbers of pick-ups are searching for a solution which contributes to their overall net-zero goals, but without compromising on capability. Up to the end of 2025, there currently are not any offerings that meet both of these criteria in the UK market… yet!
