Isuzu UK recorded 3,688 sales of the D-Max pick-up at the close of 2021, an increase of 16.9% over 2020, which ended with 3,154 units. December provided a strong finish to the year with 320 sales of the Isuzu D-Max in the month, an increase of 70.2% over the previous December.
Overall, the pick-up market in the UK ended 2021 19% up on the previous year with 42,488 units registered in the segment across all manufacturers, according to the latest figures published by the SMMT.
The All-New Isuzu D-Max launched to critical acclaim in early spring and has seen a significant shift in sales mix within the Isuzu D-Max range. Double-cab auto versions increased sales by 47.9% over the previous year, with the range-topping Isuzu D-Max V-Cross automatic becoming the brand’s best-selling model.
Alan Able, Brand Director, Isuzu UK said
“Following the arrival of the All-New Isuzu D-Max in Spring, we have been encouraged by our customers and dealers enthusiasm and positive feedback for the new model, especially the top of the range V-Cross version. Customers have recognised the significant improvements over the previous generation model and the increase in demand reflects this. Also, given the supply constraints in 2021, the brands overall performance has been limited, albeit we have a very strong bank of future orders to fulfil in 2022.”
